Loose Ends featuring Jane Eugene Live in Atlanta

CLIENT/ARTIST: Loose Ends featuring Jane Eugene

If it had not been for Kenneth and Jane of Loose Ends. I'm not sure where I'd be right now as it relates to Concert Photography. I met these people at a concert here in Atlanta when I was waiting out behind the backstage area for another great friend, Mr. Larry Graham of Graham Central Station. Waiting around the backstage area is an extremely common part of my Concert Photography workflow. As a photographer I have to wait for my artists to show up so that they can make arrangements with the promoter for my all access credentials. Once I receive those, I can move around at will to capture everything that goes on. Including activities in the dressing rooms to onstage soundcheck activities, to just random shots of the artist going through their pre-show rituals.

What good is being in the music game if you don't help someone when you can

In this case on that very hot summer day while I was waiting for Larry to show up, Kenneth, one of the members of Loose Ends, was riding in one of those little golf carts to the security area by the back gate to handle some sort of business. When he saw me just sitting there he asked why I was hanging out there in the hot sun. I told Kennth that I was waiting for Larry. Kenneth quickly said "Come on!". He told me to come with him back to the backstage area. I told him that I didn't have my credentials yet. Kenneth then responded by saying "Don't worry about that. Here take mine!". I asked him, "then what about you, how are you going to get back there?" Because security can be very tight depending of the venue. Kennth then said, "Man don't worry about it, I'll handle it." I said, "Thank you very much, I really appreciate it!" Kenneth said " No problem Brother, that's how we do it! What good is being in the music game if you don't help someone when you can!"

They Opened the Door

I will never forget that. From there Kenneth took me back to the stage area and introduced me to Jane and all the other members of the Loose Ends family. I think that Jane adopted my that day and made me an honorary member of the group! I did connect with Larry Graham later that afternoon and I got some amazing shots of him and his group. But even more importantly I met some wonderful new family members in Jane and the Loose Ends family. From then on whenever Loose ends performed anywhere close to GA, I was there capturing them and their performances. That opened the door for me to meet and start working for the acts that I have always loved like Lakeside, Slick Rick, SOS Band, the Bar-Kays, Con-Funk-Shun, The Ohio Players, Tony Tonie Tone', After 7 and so many others. They motivated me to step up my game with the artists that I was already shooting for, like Mint Condition which lead to other opportunities to shoot for legends like Teddy Riley and Blackstreet, Keith Sweat, GUY, Eric Benet and so many others.

I will always love Kenneth, Jane, Derrick Rodgers and the rest of the Loose Ends Family for showing me so much love on day one!

I hope that you enjoy these images. They are some from their last appearance here in Atlanta.
